Touching base
Just touching base. One of my biggest worries is having something to write about. I hope my past and present experiences will keep some interested. At times I will also post some things other than my EMS carrier. If any followers have any questions, please post them.

A little EMS work history
Just a little note about my EMS work history. When I started out I worked in the county I live in. Logan County EMS a small service that runs two first out ALS ambulances. I am still active with them as a part time employee. I am friends with all the employees and have known most of them for many years.
I have also worked as a flight paramedic for 2 1/2 years. In this job I increased my training and experience, becoming much more confident in my assessment and treatment skills. It was a very exciting experience.
My current job is the highest run volume service I have worked at. We have four first out ALS trucks and four different stations throughout the county.
I also work prn for a hospital based service in Clarksville, Ark. This job gives my a change of pace since we also assist in the emergency department when we are not on calls.
I believe that's it for now.
Just Starting
Hey, I am Larry Fox. I am starting this blog as a way to communicate ideas I have about my job as a Paramedic. I have been a medic since 1996 and in EMS since 1993. I still love my job and caring for people. I started this career when I was 33 years old and really feel at home doing this. I have worked primarily for small county services. For the last 4 years I have worked in Russellville Arkansas and am now a shift supervisor as well as a field paramedic here.
I am married to Vivian and have been since 1980. Our son is married and our daughter is in nursing school. We live in Paris, Arkansas, were I have lived all my life. More about us later.
I hope as you read this blog you get a feel for why I love my job and maybe I will even affect how you feel about my vocation. I plan to talk about the good and bad while keeping private information private.
I hope to hear from you as we move forward in this endeavor.
